November 2013 Favorites

This month went by so fast! I seriously cannot believe it's almost December. I sat down last night to plan out blog posts and could not believe that it was already time for favorites again!

The beginning of the month was super stressful with finals and such, but then I got to travel and that was super fun! I guess because I've been busy with school and then living out of a suitcase I don't have as many favorites this month, but here's what I've been obsessing over in November! Enjoy! :)

1. Everett Field Jacket \\ I had my eye on this since August and finally purchased it in October. I didn't really get to wear it all that much then because it was still a little warm. I definitely got my wear in November though! Up here in Ohio I've been wearing it almost every day and having fun layering it over outfits. It's the perfect casual jacket!

2. Mophie Juice Pack \\ The girl at Verizon told me this this holds FOUR charges...yeah it totally doesn't...but it does hold one, which is double was I normally have. It seemed like this month with finals/traveling that I was always making sure this was charged up. It's great when you're going to be out for a while or when your on your phone a lot (like online shopping during 6 hour critiques...).

3. Pearls and Bauble Necklace \\ I've seriously been wearing the heck out of this necklace (if you follow me on Instagram you already know this! haha), I had been seeing these everywhere and LOVING them, however they were always super expensive. I found this one at Express for $35 (right now it's on sale for like $17!), and thought it was very reasonably priced. It looks just as good as the more expensive ones and I can't wait to dress it up for the holidays! :)

4. Bean Boots \\ I got these at the end of October, and I loved them then...but I have really gotten to use them this month with being up north and what not. I totally realized how great they are in the snow when trudging through a few inches of it (which is totally a blizzard I don't care what ya'll say up here). I definitely almost busted my butt in my riding boots, so I guess ya'll can have that hilarious mental picture, and after that it was Bean Boots all the way.

5. Julep Lip Gloss \\ I got one of these in my Julep box last month (mine is in "Glowing") and it has stayed in my purse every since. I love the consistency and taste of it and it stays on for a while. I have a thing with sticky lip gloss, and this one isn't sticky at all and goes on great!

What are your favorite things this month?

New C.Wonder Tote

I love how when I'm up north, I have a ton of different stores to shop in. We don't have a C.Wonder anywhere near my hometown, however I was able to go to one in Ohio and grab my adorable tote bag that I've been eyeing for a while.

I've been needing a new bag to keep my school stuff in on my way to class. I used to have a Vera Bradley tote that I likes, but I felt it was a little small and one of my pens bled in it... :/ (Which reminds me, I need to look for cute pencil pouches...)

Anyways, I like having a purse-type bag for class because I often need to run into the bookstore, library, etc... and I always eat lunch on campus so I don't like rummaging through my backpack for my keys and money and stuff AND I don't like carrying multiple bags...it's too much for me to keep track of.

Please note, this is NOT a sponsored post.

So when I saw this bag at C.Wonder I was super excited. I had been looking at canvas ones from L.L. Bean...which are great, but in my opinion they look more summery and I feel like I would get it dirty really easily. I also liked the Longchamp ones, but these C.Wonder ones are comparable at a much better price point.

I chose to get the navy in the regular size (they also have a mini). I felt that the navy one is a great year round color, though I LOVE the herringbone one.

It fits my computer (which I will sometimes bring with me to studio when I need dual screens), and is large enough to fit any books, notebooks, and supplied I may need to class. I also like how it has the pockets for my phone and purse-type things so I don't have to rummage around for it, a problem I had with my Vera Bradley...the pockets were TOO deep on the front so it was a hassle pulling out my card to pay for lunch.

All in all, I LOVE my new bag and thought I would share it with you guys! If you need an affordable tote that is easy to clean this one is a great option at $78! Also for Black Friday if you buy 3 or more items you get 30% off, which is what I did making the tote only $55.

What kind of bag do you prefer for toting around books/supplies to class?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! So yesterday my brother showed me this awesome video that he and my cousin made while we were out shopping! Pretty cool huh? Especially for a 12 and 10 year old.

Anyway, dinner with the family was fun. I basically slept all day and woke up for dinner because I think I'm getting sick. :(

I'm not going to let that stop me for Black Friday!! Here's my Thanksgiving/Black Friday shopping outfit (because I wear it through the night...I'm not gross I promise!).

Jeans: Old \\ Necklace: C.Wonder \\ Shoes: Tory Burch \\ Shirt: H&M \\ Bracelet: Polo Factory

How was your Thanksgiving?

J.Crew Factory Winter Picks

Good Morning all! I'm super excited because tomorrow I get to go to J.Crew! We don't have one for miles, and I'd rather shop in the store than online...so getting to go to one is a treat!

With Black Friday coming and a ton of sales going on, I was perusing their website last night and thought I'd share with you my list of winter favorites!

Flannel Button Down \\ I need some button downs that aren't blue/cool toned (I'm not sure how but all my button downs are blue or white...oops) and this one is great. I love J.Crew shirts the best and flannel is so warm and cozy in the winter.

Scarf \\ Love this scarf, I've been wanting an infinity scarf, they're getting so popular. A navy and white striped one is so classic and would go with nearly everything!

Bow Sweater \\ I have a slight obsession with sweaters (especially sweaters layered over button downs...hello warm). I think this one is adorable and great for the holiday season with the cute bow on it! :)

Fair Isle Sweater \\ This one has been on my wish-list for a while. I've been obsessed with fair isle sweaters! They look so classic and cozy! :)

Peacoat \\ I've had my eye on this peacoat for a while! I've been waning a new one! :) The green and pink ones are adorable too!

Vest \\ Love, love, love, this herringbone vest! There are so many possibilities with it! Maybe it will be in my store since it is sold out online... :(

Sequin Skirt \\ Love this for the holidays or a fun going out skirt! Imagine all the possibilities with fun tights!

Pajamas \\ A cozy pair of cute pajamas is a must this winter. I just love this set from J.Crew. I've had my eye on it for a while and I'm hoping it'll be on sale this Black Friday! :)

Loafers \\ LOVE loafers this season! These navy ones would go with so much too! :)

Necklace \\ A jewel toned statement necklace would go with so much during the winter. And it would be a perfect piece to dress up holiday outfits. Plus, it would be a great transition piece in the spring/summer.

What's your favorite J.Crew Factory items for the wintertime?

The Trip So Far...

I'm so sorry for my lack of posts!!! I've been completely away from technology so now that I'm at my aunts house for the rest of the week I'm not so cut off from the world!

I was at a farmhouse in a small Ohio town and it was so fun! It actually snowed, which was really cool because I've never been in real snow before. I LOVED wearing my Bean Boots in the snow and it was so pretty and peaceful. Here's some pictures of where I was if you're interested.

Wasn't it gorgeous? Be sure to keep a look out for Black Friday/Thanksgiving posts coming up! I'm super pumped about Black Friday! :)

Holiday iPhone 5 Background!

Ugh, you guys...I'm so ready to be out of the car and off the road...this better be a fun freaking trip because driving 11 hours is just not my cup of tea.

Anyways... are you loving sparkles as much as I am this holiday season? Download the wallpaper for your iPhone!

I have it on my phone and I love it! Just save the picture and it should be the correct size for an iPhone 5.

Let me know what you think of it! :)

See You Later! :)

Well today is the day I leave for a week! And here is my obligatory away post! I'm going to visit family and spend Thanksgiving in Ohio (which I'm pretty nervous of because I've never been up north in the winter...)

I'll try an blog as much as I can, but I definitely have some great things planned for when I get back so make sure to stay in touch! ;)

I thought for today's post I'd make a great travel outfit for all you preppies traveling over the holidays. When I travel comfort is number one! I chose jeans, a long sleeve t-shirt, a fleece vest (I totally want one, and I almost stole my roommate's before I left...), a hat for the hair ;), bean boots for any weather, and I just love that Vineyard Vines tote don't you? It would be the perfect carry on.

I love the Kate Spade wristlet and earbuds. It would be the perfect thing to keep change, money, and ID's in without being too much of a hassle to carry around, and those earbuds are just adorable!

Earbuds: Kate Spade \\ Vest: Columbia \\ Jeans: J.Crew \\ Boots: L.L. Bean \\ Tote Bag: Vineyard Vines \\ Wristlet: Kate Spade \\ Baseball Cap: Vineyard Vines \\ T-Shirt: Southern Marsh

What are your go-to outfits/accessories when traveling?

Old Navy Winter Must Haves

Old Navy has been really surprising me...well all year. I would rarely walk in and find a few things I like and now I feel like I can't get enough! (I'm looking at you oxblood corduroys...) I love the price and the sales there, they're perfect for a fashionista on a college budget.

Anyways, here's my favorite winter picks from Old Navy! Enjoy! :)

What's your favorite winter items from Old Navy?

Errands and Date Night

Today has been another lazy day, I woke up at the crack of noon and finally pulled myself out of the house around two. Ya'll I'm seriously enjoying this break from school and stress!

Tonight I have a date with my boyfriend before I go out of town for a week, I'm pretty sure we're keeping it casual so this outfit will work great for that too! Not to toot my own horn but I seriously love how I mixed patterns today! ;) I'm still loving my new loafers! :)

Shoes: Target \\ Jeans: Old \\ Belt: Old Navy \\ Bracelet: Polo Factory Store \\ Shirt: Old Navy \\ Cardigan: J.Crew Factory (Similar) \\ Necklace: J.Crew Factory

I had to run by the mall today because my Coach purse broke. :( (It was the little turn-lock on the front...is that a thing with the purses? Let me know...) I had to bring it in to the Coach store there for them to send it off to get fixed...I can't wait until it comes back. I LOVE that purse. Anyways, while I was there I HAD to do a little bit of shopping right?

I walked passed New York and Company and a dress caught my eye, I also saw an awesome coat that I am still debating on going back and getting....

The Dress, wouldn't it be the perfect holiday dress? I love the cut and the floral scroll detailing is awesome! :)

I saw this coat there too and I love it! I'm totally debating going back and getting it. It's on sale for $69 right now, and finding a great winter peacoat for under $100 has been my goal this season. (For some reason I always end up getting a new coat on Black Friday...it's kind of turning into a tradition for me...haha)

So what do you guys think? Should I go back and splurge on the coat before my trip?

Lazy Autumn Day

Today I had plans to do so much...but I didn't. Tomorrow I'll run my errands...today I was enjoying being home for the first time in a while. My neighborhood looks gorgeous this time of year, with all the different colored leaves on the oaks and other trees, I love driving through it.

Anyways, today I did at least  get up to go get a much needed haircut, perused the bookstore, had lunch with my mother, then came home and napped with my kitten at the foot of the bed. It was great...

Like my new shoes? I found them at Target last night, they had a black studded strap going across them but with a few snips it was gone. I like the classic leopard print so much better than with embellishments. I also love this quote from the Great Gatsby.

Jeans: Old \\ Loafers: Target \\ Shirt: Old \\ Necklace: Charming Charlie's \\ Cardigan: J.Crew Factory

Holiday Packing Tips

Ok, so I literally spent five hours packing and getting ready for my trip today. Not only was I packing to be home for a few days from my apartment, but also for a week long trip up north. Anyways, I always make a list when packing...because if I don't I assume I need everything and pack for a year...

Cute bag options I've been eyeing as replacements to my old Vera Bradley from L.L. Bean and Tuckernuck

1. Check the Weather \\ This is the first thing I do, mainly because I need to know what to pack. (also, I found out the hard way that "Yeah it feels like summer up here!" does not mean the same Louisiana summers I'm used to...). Today I had to check for Louisiana (75 degree highs...) and Ohio (35 degree highs...), and plan my Louisiana days and Ohio days with two bags.

2.  Pick Out Outfits \\ Next I go through and pick out outfits for each day I'll be gone, the more mixing and matching the better, especially if you're able to wash clothes while you're away. I plan down to shoes and jewelry too, so I know which to bring. I lay everything out on my bed and folded.

3. Make a List of all Essentials \\ What I mean by this is everything that isn't laid out as outfits. I list stuff like my computer, the charger, phone charger, underwear, t-shirts, socks, etc. Now that I can see all the outfits I want to take with me, I can go through and write down everything else I'll need.

4. Lay Out Everything \\  After making my trusty list, I lay out everything and check it off, all on my bed. Now I have everything laid out on my bed and ready to be packed up.

5. Pack up! \\ Now I guess this could be summed up by throwing everything in a suitcase but I have a way of doing this too. I try to put everything that I will need sooner up top. I put all my clothes and shoes in first, minus the outfits I'll be wearing in hotel rooms along the way, and then stack toiletries, underwear, hair and beauty stuff. This helps because on long road trips I don't have to dig to the bottom of my suitcase to get what I need.

Anyways, this is just my system and it works to consolidate my usual month long suitcase into a more reasonable amount. I hope this helps with your holiday packing!

Where are you planning on going this holiday season?

Holiday Dress Ensemble

I'm seriously getting pumped for the holiday season, and I will be doing a holiday dress post (keep on a lookout for that), but today it was 80 degrees outside :O and so I was online shopping a lot for more wintery things.

I ran across this dress on Modcloth and just had to share it with you guys! I love it! It's the perfect winter white color and it's sparkly!!

I hope this outfit puts you in a holiday mood like it did me! (even though it's friggin' summer outside!)

Dress: Modcloth \\ Coat: L.L. Bean \\ Shoes: Kate Spade \\ Clutch: Kate Spade \\ Earrings: Kate Spade \\ Bracelet: Kate Spade \\ Bow Bracelet: Kate Spade \\ Necklace: J.Crew

Essentials of a Preppy Home: Pillows!

I thought I would continue this series, as I really liked the last post and have gotten many new ideas for it (so check back for more!), today I wanted to talk about pillows! I have a slight obsession with throw pillows, but I feel they can really make a room!

I love curling up in them with a blanket and a ton of pillows looks so comfy and inviting. Anyways, here's how I used throw pillows in two of my spaces!

The above picture is my bed, I re-did my room for this school year (it used to be damask...but I was getting tired of it.) I love all the soothing colors, and when my bed is all made it makes me really happy. Those solid pillows (the shams and that single throw pillow) all go with my bedding. I found it early in the summer, it's Kate Spade (I'd link to it, but it's discontinued now...). I knew I wanted neutrals and I wanted to build upon it so I was so excited finding this bedding.

I also eventually want to get the shams monogrammed...but I couldn't before leaving for school so I may try over Christmas break when I don't have trips to go on.

The front two with the designs I found at T.J. Maxx (seriously...go check there for home decor stuff...they seriously have the best!). I took out the pillow inserts because they weren't very good and added fluffy down ones. And for the striped ones...I MADE them. Yes, MADE them.

I fell in love with this fabric (it had all the colors I wanted in my room!), so I found this tutorial on this awesome blog called "Live, Love, DIY," and made my own...and I love them!

Here's just a few of the pillows in my living room. For the gingham and ikat ones, I made pillows covers as well. The ikat pillows are seriously my favorite. I revamped some old pillows I had for those...just making covers for them, then bought pillow inserts from Ikea for the gingham ones. I found the metallic one at the store I worked at when they had a big sale...I'm so glad I got it, it's adds a great pop to my living room!

What's your favorite types of accent pillows?

New Look!

Ya'll, since I'm out of school for a few days and not home just yet I have been dedicating so much time to working on this blog. This look is something I've been thinking of for a while (I've been trying to figure out a great "gold" look on Photoshop for a long time...) but with school and life I just haven't had the time.

I loved the navy blue, and adding the accent color was good, but I'm really not a bright pink person...but that's what I thought looked the best for a while. Anyways, I just wasn't completely satisfied with the layout...and being the perfectionist I am...must tweak it until it's perfect....which I'm sure there will definitely be more tweaking to do...but for now I love it!

I love how simple and clean it looks now. I feel like the new layout looks a bit more professional and designed.

I'd love to hear your feedback on the new looks for the site! :)

Favorite Southern Marsh T-Shirts...

When I started college I had a collection consisting of about 3 t-shirts...I basically wore them to sleep. I definitely had a strict no t-shirt policy. Since being in architecture school, I have come to appreciate the t-shirt...in long sleeve, short sleeve, and tank top style. It's really a staple college wardobe piece, and if worn correctly can look not slubby at all (please don't get me started on leggings, Uggs, and oversized T-shirts...whoever decided that was OK should have their mental health checked...)

Anyways, today I got a long sleeve Southern Marsh shirt, I have been eyeing them for a while, but until a while ago didn't know there was a retailer nearby. I probably wouldn't usually go out shopping for t-shirts (almost all of mine are college shirts), but since I'm making a trip up north I figured I needed to represent! ;)

I got the maroon one with the black duck. I love the simplicity of these and the maroon color is great for winter. Though you'll probably never see an outfit of me with it, it will definitely get worn to class on stressful days when it just isn't a "dress up" day.

Anyways, here's some of my favorite designs from the brand, and all of these can be purchased through the Southern Marsh Website, or retailers scattered throughout the south.

Mine is the top right two pictures, but I also love the "Born on the Bayou" one, as I'm a Louisiana native, the Regatta one is awesome! I totally have a weakness for anything nautical! I also love the American flag duck one ('Murica!), my boyfriend actually found this one first in long sleeve and enjoyed bragging...but I may just have to match him...or wait until summer and make it my 4th of July shirt. The minty green one is great too! It's a great color and one that I definitely don't have in a t-shirt!

I think many of these can be long or short sleeve t-shirts, and I'm definitely planning on expanding my Southern Marsh collection! :)

Winter 2014 Wish List

Now that classes are over for the quarter and Thanksgiving break is starting it's really starting to feel like winter...the weather getting chilly is helping too. Which made me decide to sit down and make my winter wish list. I've done this for a while, online shop and write down the things I'd really like to get this season to add to my wardrobe. It's like prioritizing my purchases and I really like my system.

When I'm out shopping and I see something on my wish-list, it helps me to prioritize it over other things. (Or justify shopping...;) ).

1. Flannel Button Down \\ I've been wanting one of these for a while, they are so cute and comfy looking and I love plaid. I can definitely see this going with a lot of different items to make a warm cozy outfit perfect for winter!

2. Crisp Oxford \\ I have a few of these, but there's always room in my collection for more, especially long sleeved ones. I currently only have two... :O! Winter is a great time to stock up, especially after Christmas, and I'm more inclined to buy them in the colder months when I'll get more wear out of them...which is why these made it on my wish-list.

3. Fair Isle Sweater \\ I LOVE these, they are so classic and cute! I don't even have one yet! :( Hopefully that will change this upcoming season. I could totally see many cute and cozy outfits with this bad boy!

4. Peacoat \\ Every winter I get a new coat, and this year I am in desperate need of a new peacoat! I wore my last one to death so I am retiring it this year...I'm liking the ones from J.Crew and Old Navy...

5. Blazer \\ Blazers are such great pieces, they can dress up a casual outfit so easily. They're also great layering pieces for the colder months, which is why they've earned a spot on my wish-list this year. Also, I love the cute plaid ones....these are from Target!!! :)

6. Vest \\ I love vests as layering pieces, and they keep me warmer than I expected. They're a great piece for a winter outfit and look so warm and comfy.

7. Black Skinny Jeans \\ I had a pair last year, but they weren't a very good pair and faded really fast. I love them though, they're a great twist on normal denim while still being a neutral...and there's so many different looks that can be created with them!

8. Hunter Rain-Boots \\ Hunter boots are so bright and colorful and add a cheery vibe to cold winter days. The bright yellow ones are on my wish-list this winter and are definitely a staple in a preppy wardrobe!

9. Hunter Cable Knit Boot Socks \\ Of course to go with my boots, these will be a must! I love boot socks, and they're really hard to find down here in the deep south. I'm definitely going to have to find a pair this winter though, they look so comfy and warm!

10. Corduroy Jeans \\ Another preppy winter staple, I kind of want one of these in every color! I love playing with textures in the winter and corduroy is such a great one! :)

11. Sperry Hayden Loafer \\ I've loved these loafers for a year now, they're so classic and cute. They would totally go with skinny jeans on warmer winter days here when boots are just a little too much...

12. Two Tone Riding Boots \\ These have been on my wish-list since last winter. I love them, they add just a little bit of interest to normal riding boots.

13. Metallic Tory Burch Reva Flats \\ I love Tory Burch Reva flats, they're so comfy and make any outfit look adorable. Since I'm into sparkly EVERYTHING this year, these are definitely on my wish-list!

14. Michael Kors Double Wrap Leather Watch \\ I love this watch, it's so classic and would be a great piece for any jewelry set!

15. Chuncky Gold Chain Link Necklace \\ Another item I've had my eye on for a while, I have a smaller chain link necklace but I love the chunky one. I could see it peeking through an oxford collar or with a tank top. It's simple but will go with just about anything! :)

16. Scarf \\ A new scarf to add to my collection is a definite must this year. I love the plaid one from Gap shown here.

17. Pearl and Bauble Necklace \\ Though I already have this one, and loving it, I decided to include it because it was originally on my winter wish-list. I think necklaces like these are perfect for the upcoming holiday season, and while I've been wearing mine with sweaters and button downs, it would go perfect with dressier outfits and that gorgeous holiday dress! :)

Sorry about the mile long post guys...hope you enjoy! What's on your winter wish-list this year?

Last Day Fall Quarter! Whew...

You guys, I am so tired, this break is going to be awesome. I'm going to enjoy every minute of it when I'm not studying for the GRE, working on my portfolio, etc...haha.

Anyways, this is the first time in few days that I had time to pick out a cute outfit to wear so I thought I'd share it. Also as a Horay! Almost done! :)

I love my bright red shoes and pearls with this outfit, I feel like it looks so festive...and I'm seriously looking forward to this holiday season! :)

Shoes: Steve Madden \\ Jeans: Old \\ Sweater: Old \\ Necklace: Express

How do you deal with finals?

Nars Holiday Collection

The other day I got an e-mail about the new Nars holiday collection...unfortunately I saved it for this evening after most of my finals are over. Ya'll I'm worn out! I'm so ready for this break!

And while I'm on break, I'm definitely going to have to pick a few of these goodies up at Sephora.
I love the bright fun colors and the reds and pinks. It's so cheerful for the holiday season. The grey metallic eyeshadow is the perfect complement too! I'm just gonna have to find me a holiday shindig to wear it to! ;)

Blush \\ Pink Lipstick \\ Red Lipstick \\ Eyeshadow \\ Red Nail Polish \\ Magenta Nail Polish \\ Limited Edition Nail Polish set on sale Soon! :)

What's your favorite item from the new collection?

Freezing Cold Finals

It's been literally FREEZING today! Like there is a legit freeze warning tonight! Ugh. However it does mean that I get to play with layers, which I love. I haven't gotten to wear my thick cable knit sweater all that much but I got to today!

I haven't had class but I have five things due tomorrow (yeah...five...Kill. Me. Now), plus trying to get my schedule for next quarter figured out before break, I've had a lot of running around to do. This outfit has been perfect for that, and the layers have kept me pretty warm...plus I've gotten a few complements on my necklace! :)

Jeans: Old \\ Shirt: Old \\ Boots: L.L. Bean \\ Sweater: Polo Ralph Lauren Factory \\ Necklace: Express \\ Vest: Old Navy

What I Want Right Now: Pajamas!!

It's finals week for me, which means I've spend most of my time curled up on the couch or in my bed with coffee and my computer. Also, now that the weather is cooling of snuggling up in comfy P.J's seems just dreamy.

There are so many cute options out there, and I always end up getting a new set for Christmas. (It's kind of a tradition, I get Christmas P.J.'s on Christmas eve then sleep in them so the next morning I have cute P.J's for pictures... :) )

Anyways, here's the ones I've been loving lately! :)

Plaid Pajama Set: C.Wonder \\ Blue/Red Piped Pajama Set: J.Crew Factory \\ Blue Polka Dot Pajama Top: Old Navy \\ Blue Polka Dot Pajama Pants: Old Navy

Final Presentation Polka Dots

This has been such a hectic two weeks, since I'm on the quarter system at my college, finals falls before Thanksgiving break...Ugh. I also kind of snuck up on me this year. I do like how the quarters go faster, it keeps me interested, but the speed can also be a little overwhelming sometimes.

Today we had to present our architecture projects that was slaved over last week, it was a really busy morning running around getting everything printed out and in order. I needed to wear something nice, but comfortable since I was running around and then sitting in a review for six hours.

My presentation actually went pretty well, I was surprised because I always get so nervous. I hate giving speeches but architecture has gotten me better over the past few years.

Shirt: Old \\ Jeans: T.J. Maxx \\ Boots: Piperlime \\ Necklace: Kohl's \\ J.Crew Factory

How do you like to dress for presentations?

Last Game Day...

So I realized that today is my last college football game to sit in the student section! :(
It's kind of rainy and cold, but I can't miss the last one! I feel like I'm going to have a lot of "lasts" this year...

Anyways, I put together an outfit for a college football game. It's going to be pretty chilly tonight so for those chilly fall games here's a good ensemble. School sweatshirt, scarf in school colors, comfy boots and a jacket! :) Enjoy!

Jeans: J.Crew \\ Vest: J.Crew \\ Boots: L.L.Bean \\ Scarf: J.Crew

New Arrivals at C.Wonder

While procrastinating I noticed that there are new arrivals at C.Wonder. I love them all, I love the deep colors and jewel tones and the textures of the styles.

While in Columbus over Thanksgiving break, I'm definitely going to have to pick up a few things since we don't have a store down here...here's some of my favorites! :)

What are your favorites?

Favorites from Lilly Pulitzer's Resort Collection

Lilly Pulitzer's Resort collection recently came out...as I read in my agenda... :). Anyways, as I was looking through it there were some pieces that I absolutely loved! I love the bright colors that Lilly is able to incorporate even in the colder months, and while sometimes their prints are a little too much for me, they always have adorable pieces.

I totally think the pink dress could double as a Holiday dress and a fun spring Cotillion dress...

Stripes and Leopard Print

Ya'll, I actually woke up early today. Like I woke up, had time to shower and for real get ready before my 8 am instead of my usual routine of freaking out, grabbing pants then getting ready AFTER class... I'm growing up...

Anyways, it was a FREEZING morning today! Ugh. :( But I totally had a lot of fun mixing prints and colors. I love my dark green pants, they're from Gap and they fit great and are super flattering...plus are a nice change of pace from blue denim and a fun fall color!

What I Want Right Now: Sparkles!

I seriously cannot wait until I'm done with school for a while...this quarter has really been kicking my butt! I'm so excited for the holidays this year, especially with Thanksgiving right around the corner. I think nothing says "holiday cheer," more than a little glitter which is why right now I'm dying to get my hands on fun sparkly and shiny pieces for my wardrobe!

There are so many ways to add a little sparkle to your wardrobe, subtly with jewelry and accessories or the Kate Spade watch and belt, a little splash on a cardigan or the J.Crew tights, or a statement with a shimmery dress or sequin embellished tank top.

November Julep Box

I get the Julep boxes every month, and I love getting a little surprise in the mail every month. It's so much fun.

I love how I got lip gloss this month, it's a really great formula and not sticky at all. The two nail polishes are a red and a brown-ish gold, and is perfect for the upcoming holiday seasons! Their new holiday collection is awesome as well, I got a catalog of it. If you're not familiar with Julep you should check it out.

Here's closer up pictures of the colors I got in my box, "Sheila" is the red, "Cynthia" is the gold, and the lip gloss is in "Glowing." My style is "Classic With a Twist,"so that's always the colors that I end up getting. If you are interested in signing up for Julep, sign up here! :).

Fall Saturday Evening

I had a pretty eventful Saturday evening, in a relaxing sort of way. I'd been working on my project all day, then in the evening my mother drove in and took me and the boyfriend out to eat. It was nice, she rarely drives up to school but I guess decided that tonight would be a good night for it! Then my roommate and I went to a friends birthday party...there we made s'mores, watched a scary movie on a projector outside while sitting around a fire. It was a really fun fall night.

I wanted to wear something that would keep me warm, so I definitely opted for my new Bean Boots, along with a button down and a sweater over it. Despite wearing my field jacket too, I still made sure I was close to the fire! I love my new necklace, I found it yesterday while shopping and fell in love. I've really been wanting a pearl statement necklace for those of you who don't follow my blog. Like...really wanting one! :)

Sparkly Kate Spade New Arrivals! :)

So yesterday I decided to check out the Kate Spade website and saw that they had a ton of great new arrivals! I love sparkly stuff right now, and I especially think it's great during the holiday season. I seriously cannot wait to start decorating everything in my apartment for Christmas, every year before winter quarter starts my roommate and I get craft and kind of go crazy...which makes me want all of these!

Here's my favorites from their new Holiday arrivals!

October 2013 as Seen Through Instagram.

It's not October anymore...Happy November everyone! I thought it'd be fun to show you my month through Instagram pictures...and if you don't already... Follow me! :)

There was Halloween...of course, where I was super nerdy as a Star Trek girl, then that one time that I decided to play with my camera instead of do homework... :). There's a few of my favorite outfits I came up with this month, and my new bean boots that I've seriously been loving! I created my own textile pattern this month which was pretty fun, made several trips home to see my cats ;), and had a blast at the Great Gatsby themed party... All in all it was a pretty good 31 days!

Now that it's November I'm going to be super busy, I'm going to have to start studying for the GRE, I'm going to Ohio for a week and touring grad schools, getting my portfolio and everything ready for grad school as well as looking into jobs. All that on top of the sprint to the end of the quarter on November 14th. I literally have something due everyday until Thanksgiving break!

Here's to another great month filled with probably a lot of coffee and not that much sleep... :)

A Starry Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! I just got back from going out with my roommate...it's going to be a lot of making up this weekend, but I feel like for my last Halloween of college it was totally worth it! :)

I was a Star Trek girl, super nerdy...I know. But it was really fun! My roommate had a blue dress that she was going to take back anyways and I went and got some paint and made it, it was really last minute...

Here's some pics of the night, enjoy! :)

I was a Star Trek girl (Middle), the blonde one was a minion, and my roommate...the one with the bow on her head was a "Gift from God." It was a really fun night!
