Morning Runs

Since I'm moving to Dallas at the beginning of June (so excited!) and starting a new job, I felt like a gym expense may not be something completely necessary so at the beginning of this quarter I decided to start working on completing the Couch to 5K program (it's tough...). Since I swam competitively almost my whole life, getting used to running is HARD! I totally thought I was in shape until I started trying to distance run (I was quite proud of myself for running 5 minutes without stopping...I'm that bad.)

So after getting a few weeks in, my old gym shoes from high school just weren't cutting it. I had to invest in a pair of running shoes...and man, do they make a difference! Also, they're way cuter than my old gym shoes.

Check out some of my other favorite running shoes just in time for swimsuit season in the widget below! :)

Do you run? If so...any tips? Because I'm still totally a newbie! :)

  1. I hate running as well, which is why I've started with interval training which makes the time go by faster to me. However, I've always wanted to be that person who loves to just go out and run 6 miles so maybe I'll attempt longer distance running this summer… it just seems like my body rejects it! Haha. Good luck!

  2. I am just getting into running too. And by getting into, I mean, running around my block once without walking is an accomplishment. :)

  3. Keep up the updates! I started it last summer but only lasted two days...ugh. Which is weird, because my normal workout is 30 minutes of weights and 60 of the elliptical/other cardio (NOT running)! I'm going to try again this year. Let's get it, girl!

  4. I have these shoes as well! I totally love them. The biggest thing I work on with my running is pressure. I try to run "lightly" so I do not damage my knees and ankles (any more than they are already). It is hard but if you think about it, you eventually start doing it. Good luck!
