Hello Spring!

3 Ways to Wear Spring Neutrals

I love color and adding punches of it to my wardrobe, but in reality I'm a huge minimalist. Nine times out of ten I gravitate toward variations of black and white...which is why I'm so obsessed with all the soft neutrals this season! I feel like wearing neutrals can make an outfit look so effortless and chic, and they're always timeless and classic plus super versatile. Check out 3 ways I plan on styling the neutral trend this spring:

1. Shorts || Shirt || Necklace || iPhone Case || Sunglasses || Bracelet || Flats || Bag
2. Shirt || Jeans || Necklace || Shoes || Bag
3. Pants || Blazer || Top || Bag || Shoes || Necklace || Sunglasses || Earrings

How do you like the neutral trend this season?

10 Things You Need for Spring Break

As my first year in the workforce, I am super jealous of all my friends who are currently on spring break! I miss it so much. My old college roommate/ best friend and I used to have so much fun planning our spring break trips (P.S. West Palm Beach was totally the best one). Anyways, in a lesson in nostalgia and an effort to live vicariously through my readers who are still in that glorious thing we call college, here's my top 10 spring break essentials!

I love the transition into spring because I can start pulling out all my bright fun clothes that have been hiding all winter, and fun statement making jewelry is a fun way to add a bright punch of color into your fresh spring wardrobe.

For some reason every spring I always get obsessed with hats no matter the style. I can definitely picture myself in this floppy straw hat sitting by the pool in a bikini sipping cocktails and tanning...can I please have a vacation?

Light and airy breezy tops are definitely a spring and summer staple. I love collecting tunics in the warmer months. They're so easy to throw on over a pair of shorts for an easy and cute outfit, plus they totally double as adorable beach coverups!

Last year I wanted chino shorts in every color, I even invested bought a pair of lime green ones. This year, I'm into patterns. Printed shorts are definitely on my list of spring break essentials.

Metallic shoes were big last year, but I feel like they will be even bigger this year. Everyone should definitely have a pair of neutral sandals for spring in summer...heck I practically live in mine after 5 and on weekends, but the great thing about metallic is they go with EVERYTHING and totally dress up a casual outfit.

Ah, swimsuit shopping. Usually one my most disappointing spring endeavors. This year, however, I've actually been preparing so I may be (almost) looking forward to it...but more on that later. There's so many adorable swimsuits out this spring (like the new Kate Spade line!!!!) that it'll be super hard to choose! I love this striped J.Crew one, it's so classic yet fun!

Even thought the weather might not be in the 80s yet (except here in Texas...), it's always easy to get in the mood for spring with bright and cheery nails! This season I've been loving bright and opaque pastel colors and soft neutrals.

Picking out a seasonal beach bag for me, is almost as daunting as picking out a swimsuit (ok, not really). But it is definitely something I look for each spring. I love this Kate Spade one with the cocktails on it! How appropriate for spring break... amirite? ;)

Probably should've been higher on my list considering there's health benefits as well, but these wayfarers fit so well into the little spot in Adobe Illustrator :D. Sunglasses are a year round must have in my bag and at all times but especially when I'm near a glaring pool or outside a lot. I love these classic and cute Rayban Wayfarers.

Do you have any fun Spring Break plans this year?

I think my favorite is probably the blue turquoise necklace, which I may end up having to get for myself as well. It's just so gorgeous! Bangle (C\O) || Shoes || Bag (Similar) || Top - It's on Sale! :) || Belt (Similar) || Blazer || Sunglasses

The girls over at The Collegiate Standard were nice enough to send me the adorable anchor bangle I'm wearing, and it's totally the perfect piece to be starting off the spring season with (especially because I'm a little anchor obsessed)! I think the cold weather and snow is (finally) over for Texas so I am officially putting away my winter wardrobe and breaking out my shorts and sunnies!

The Collegiate Standard sells mostly sorority jewelry and accessories which are adorable and make me wish I had some letters to show off (unfortunately I was an architecture major in college which meant I could be nothing else…), however they also have some adorable non-Greek pieces like the bangle I'm wearing that also comes in blue and red (both just as cute).  Definitely check them out if you're in a sorority…or not in one! :)

Check out some of my favorite green picks that will ensure you won't get pinched this St. Pattys day! :)

Anyways, despite the messy snow (again.), I am so ready for spring!! And what better way to get into the spring mood than with shoes!

Apartment Update + Pillow Giveaway

Monogrammed Pillow

After 10 months of living in my new apartment I finally feel like I'm starting to get it looking like my vision, though there's still a long way to go. I think no matter how long I live here, it will always be a work in progress. There's just so many cute odds and ends that can spice up a space and awesome Pinterest ideas to DIY (Like my curtains that were $10 at Ikea with navy blue grosgrain fabric glued on them).

My favorite spot in my apartment is my sitting/living area. My couch was the first thing I got for my "big girl" apartment and I've had so much fun putting everything together, I love how bright and cheerful the space is with the pops of pink, especially from my pink chair my mom bought and made for me. When Kellie from Carolina Clover asked if I wanted to review one of their adorable monogrammed pillows I knew I had to get the gold and pink one to match my chair.

Like most girls, I'm a sucker for adorable throw pillows, and I also love anything monogrammed, and I definitely think my cute new throw pillow is the perfect accent piece to finish off this space. Now I need to tackle my closet…yikes!

I'm super excited to be partnering with Carolina Clover to giveaway one of their adorable (and customizable) Clairebella monogrammed pillows like the one currently on my couch. Be sure to enter the Rafflecopter widget below!

P.S. Pepper was totally looking at me like I was crazy and trying to figure out what the heck I was doing whilst photographing for this post!
