Am I the only one that can't wait for sweater weather? I'm seriously so excited for fall and I have only just started my fall wardrobe shopping! Unfortunately in Texas fall weather probably wont come for another two months, it's definitely been in the 3 digits lately...which is no time for sweaters and riding boots. I definitely want to be shopping all the new collections that are coming out without having to wait to wear them, which is why I love the idea of transition pieces to help get through both seasons. Which is especially useful for a state that only has 4 months of cold!

I think some of the best transitional pieces are wardrobe staples. I always use late summer to stock up on some of my favorite staples like jeans and shoes. Neutral accessories, especially browns and blacks, are the perfect thing to help transition into fall. Timeless flats, bags, and jewelry is the perfect way to start fall shopping while still being able to wear your new stuff in 100 degree weather as well as 40 degree weather.
I also look for pieces in darker hues that can easily be layered when the weather starts getting cooler. I could definitely see pairing the black and white stripe top with denim shorts now and with jeans and a blazer and boots later.
What are your go-to fall transition pieces?
