I cannot believe this is already the last post of 2016, I know it's cliche to say but this year has seriously flown by! Before we start the new year, it's always nice to reflect on the old - and what better way to do that here than with the best looks of 2016!
I can't believe 2016 is almost over, and what a year it has been! New Years Eve is an especially fun holiday for me because it's all about dressing up in glitzy and sparkle-y outfits and because it's my birthday! To me, NYE is the last big party of the holiday season, and my last chance to wear a fun over-the-top sequin dress for a whole year!
Less than a week until the big day, ya'll! Have you finished your Christmas shopping...because I sure haven't! I'll definitely be running around these next few days grabbing some last minute gifts, thank God for online shopping!
Bright bold red is just one of those colors that screams "festive," especially when it's on a sweet silhouette like this midi skirt. This outfit is classy and conservative enough for Christmas Eve church service and then out to dinner, one of my favorite family traditions!
The holidays are, without a doubt, the most beautiful and magical time of year! It seems like wherever you go is lit up and everything sparkles and shines! This year, it seems the style is extra vibrant - like this burgundy velvet dress that's perfect for holiday parties! Velvet has been such a huge trend this season, and for good reason - the rich sheen of velvet has such a warm and luxurious feel in the colder months.
Happy Tuesday, ya'll! This year I feel like the holidays are flying by, I seriously cannot believe it's already the middle of December and we only have one more shopping/party weekend until Christmas!
This dress from EShakti would be the perfect pick for your last round of holiday parties, or even a fun and colorful New Years Eve party dress! I think my favorite part about EShakti is the fact that it comes as a custom garment. For those of us who are petite but can't have everything tailored, this is a total lifesaver. I was able to customize all my measurements so I made sure it fit perfectly when it arrived and I didn't have to worry about finding another dress for my event, because lets face it, last minute party invites mean last minute shopping!
Holiday outfits are my absolute favorite! I love how festive and fun they can be - and the holiday season really makes it ok to play with some fun prints, textures and patterns (think sequin everything?). I love this outfit because it's not only festive but the perfect in-between for those occasions where you want to dress up a little more than usual but it isn't an all out affair. This is definitely a contender in my closet for Christmas Eve church or a holiday office party!
Happy December! It's definitely the most wonderful time of the year! This weekend I (stupidly) decided to do a little Christmas shopping and it was absolutely PACKED, but everything is so pretty and festive not even that the insane crowds can get me down.
I've basically been living in some form of this outfit since the temperature dropped. It's such an easy and effortless look, and really comfortable for those days when you're out and about all day!
One of my favorite thing about the holiday season is all the parties that I'll get to dress up for! A LBD (little black dress) is a definite closet staple around this time of year, and the perfect versatile piece to add a statement necklace or festive clutch.
It's officially Christmas Time, y'all! Today I've spent the morning putting up the Christmas tree and getting out all the decor. The holidays are my favorite time of year, everything is always so pretty and cheerful! I'm also starting to look for Christmas presents for everyone on my list, it's definitely a good time to start shopping with all the sales going on right now. Check out some of my favorite picks this year for all the girls on your list!

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you are having a great day celebrating with friends and family! I drove back to my home town late last night and have been finishing up cooking Thanksgiving dinner with my mom this morning. While I love Dallas, it's definitely nice to take a break from the hustle and bustle and spend some time with family.
I also want to take the time this Thanksgiving to thank all of ya'll that follow along here at Champagne and City Lights. It's you guys that allow me to continue to post my favorite outfits and pieces and keep this little hobby of mine going and for that I am truly thankful!
Speaking of favorite outfits and pieces, Black Friday deals have already started! I've already been shopping some while I'm waiting for more family to come over and dinner to be ready. If you're in the holiday shopping mood, check out some of the great sales I've listed below!
I feel like Thanksgiving is fall's last big hurrah until next year, which means it's about time to trade in pumpkin spice everything for gingerbread and eggnog! What better way to indulge in the flavor of fall than these adorable (and super easy) pumpkin spice cupcakes this Thanksgiving!
This weekend I'm hosting #Friendsgiving, a week from today is Thanksgiving, and I'm already RSVPing to Christmas parties! The holiday season is officially in full swing! This outfit is perfect for running around town picking up Christmas decor and ingredients for my Friendsgiving feast!
If there's one fall/winter item I buy way too much of it's scarves, coats and capes, (especially for living in Texas) I seriously cannot get enough of them! Blanket scarves are the perfect (and cozy!) accessory to dress up an oversize sweater or plaid button down. I love how chic they make an otherwise plain outfit look, and I definitely cannot resist print mixing - like in this outfit! The key is to match a color (like the navy in this scarf and sweater) so the look seems cohesive.
It's a miracle! It's actually starting to feel like fall in Texas (in November). I finally get to pull out all my sweaters and scarves because it seems like this indian summer is about to come to and end, just in time for the holidays and a bunch of fall/winter sales!
I have been basically living in this tunic since it dropped below 65 because it is just SO comfy. Throwing on a pair of leather leggings and booties was a perfect way to dress it up for #GirlsNightOut this weekend!

Ya'll, I cannot believe it's already November! The holiday season, and my favorite time of year, is right around the corner. I'm trying so hard to wait to pull out all my Christmas decor! This is also the season for sales, and I had just to post some of my favorites from Nordstrom's Fall Sale. Now is a great time to start stocking up on fall and winter essentials, especially before the gift buying frenzy of the holidays, and what better way to plan your holiday wardrobe than with an awesome sale!
This week has been rough for me, I have been in bed sick and unable to take photos (because lets face it, a red nose will never be a blogger trend) so I'm glad I had this photoshoot that I haven't gotten around to posting yet. It's always a challenge in Texas to find fall pieces that you don't end up sweating in by noon, and this dress is quickly becoming one of my new favorites!
Happy fall y’all! It’s getting to be that time of year again when the crisp mornings have me longing to go shopping for new fall pieces (not that I already haven’t been!) I always have my shopping bag full of items I want in my favorite stores at any given time, so I thought it was about time for another wish-list: fall edition!
In case I haven’t mentioned it enough, I’m still loving little details that make a piece unique, like tassels and bow ties. One of my favorite trends this year has been the statement pieces that really elevate a simple outfit.
A lot of my finds came from the Shopbop semi-annual sale. Spend under $500 and get 25% off or over $500 for 30% off with code: MAINEVENT16. Flip through the widget below for some of my favorite pieces, specifically from the sale:
Sometimes, it's the little details that really make an outfit, and this season I've been loving bow blouses. They add a refined and elevated, feminine touch to even the simplest outfits. This particular outfit, I've been wearing on repeat because it's perfect for after work drinks on evenings when it's chilly but not cold. Also, throwing on a pair of boyfriend jeans with your office attire is a great way to add a quick chic touch when you're running out the door to grab cocktails with friends!
