Seven Spring Shoes You Need in Your Life

I don't know about you, but I sure am ready to kick off my winter booties and slip into a chic new pair of sandals! And this spring, the shoes to pick from definitely don't disappoint. I know I recently shared  my spring wish list but I have too many adorable shoes that I just love that I thought I'd make a separate post for my shoe loves. Seriously guys - my Nordstrom shopping bag is making my poor credit card a little nervous...

2016 Spring Shoe guide
I've already spoken to lace up flats and how I absolutely love this trend, so why not apply it to heels too? As if these bright pink heels aren't a statement enough - the laces make sure you'll definitely be noticed! I can totally see these paired with a LDB for a night on the town or a casual pair of jeans and a white t-shirt for a more casual vibe.

This past fall and winter, fringe seemed to be literally everywhere and this spring seems to be no exception. I love the little tuft of fringe on these sandals...it's like having a pom pom on your toes!

As my roommate so lovingly pointed out the other day..."Why are you buying another pair of leopard shoes?" ...Ok, um, because they quite literally go with everything. But, they really do, which is why I also might need these (plus they're under $100!).

I know I said I wanted to kick off my winter boots, but these booties are perfect for spring weather! I love the laser cut design and open toes to pair with jeans and a breezy sweater for chilly early spring mornings - and they can even be carried into fall (and winter here in Dallas!).

I can't make a post about spring shoe styles and NOT include a beach-y pair of wedges! I love these adorable striped ones for a nautical feel!

Who says floral prints are just for dresses? This spring, I probably have 10 different floral patterned shoes on my wish list. There's just so many cute ones this year! These heels would make the perfect statement piece to an otherwise understated outfit - from casual jeans to a simple LBD.

I've been loving the Valentino version of these shoes since last fall and have been eyeing some dupes, but these are by far my favorites! The little bow on top adds the perfect cute and feminine touch!

Spring Shirtdress: Wear Now & Later!

Since it's basically spring - at least it feels like it here - I've been ordering pieces for my spring wardrobe, and I seriously cannot wait to wear them (and blog about them!). This year, I feel like casual cute is really in, as in there's lots of comfy, oversize, breezy pieces out there and one of my favorite is the shirtdress! It's such a versatile wardrobe staple that I wanted to show you guys how I'd wear it in the "winter" and later in the spring!

Knee high socks and booties is the perfect way to keep your legs cozy when wearing your spring pieces early. Keep the colors bold and warm and throw on a scarf to finish the look!

For spring, pair with bright statement pieces, a panama hat and I LOVE the idea of chambray on chambray by pairing those wedges with it!

Have you started your spring shopping?

Winter Blues

Have I mentioned lately that I'm ready for winter to be over (which it basically feels like it is)?Because I totally am! That being said, I'm a little sad I haven't been able to wear my new coat much since I've gotten it because I just love it so much! By mid-day it's way too warm to be wearing a coat, but I've found myself throwing this one on before work because it's the perfect color for chilly spring-like mornings and winter days alike.

Spring Wishlist

With February officially half way over, I've definitely got my eyes on spring! It even feels like it here in Dallas...and I'm hoping the nice weather stays! I'm so excited to start shopping for spring, so I thought it would be fun to share my spring wish-list with you guys!

I loved the lace up flats trend this fall and winter, but because of the cold I tend to wear mostly boots and shoes I can wear with socks. I can't wait to really get into this trend in the spring when the weather is warmer and I can show them off! I love these floral ones...perfect for warmer weather!

I definitely already have (multiple) sunglasses, but I've been seeing such cool and different types of sunnies out there lately that I definitely will be needing one more pair! You can't have too many when the days get longer right?

These are the most perfect spring bags! I can't wait to get one of my own. They'll be great for fitting everything in, yet still having a casual cross body to tote around.

This spring/summer, I definitely will be grabbing a new floppy straw hat! I love how glamorous and chic they look, plus they're perfect for the warmer weather since they protect your skin and eyes from the sun. Definitely a closet staple I still need to grab!

Yet another closet staple that I still don't have! This year I'm determined to find a great pair of breezy and casual boyfriend jeans that don't look frumpy on my 5'3" frame. Any suggestions?

This spring, I really want to incorporate more breezy, casual sun dresses into my wardrobe. Last year I basically lived in shorts and jeans...but this year I'd like to branch out. I am IN LOVE with this pink gingham one! How perfect would it be for brunch with friends!?

Last year I didn't take many trips (read - any) because it was my first year at my first big girl job and I was still figuring things out. This year I'm much more in a routine and have lots of vacation days saved up so I've got a bunch of fun weekend trips planned to make up for last year! I'll definitely be needing a new cute travel bag, and this one is under $100!

What's on your spring wish-list?

Happy Valentine's Day y'all! Because it's on a Sunday this year, we did all the festivities last night...but I wanted to share my outfit that I wore to dinner because I am in LOVE with this dress! The pale pink color and adorable (Kate Spade-like) bow make it perfect for Valentine's Day, but I'm definitely going to be re-wearing it this spring. Easter maybe?

8 Last Minute Gifts Perfect for Your Valentine

Valentine's Day is such a weird holiday to shop for a guy, I'll be getting flowers, chocolate, and champagne....but what's the guy equivalent of that? Besides the usual go-to's (candy and beer), I like to get a little something else for my guy to show him a little love on Valentine's Day too! Since February 14th is this Sunday, I wanted to share a couple last minute gift ideas for the guys in your life...best part? They're all under $100!

So I'm totally going to admit that the Brooks Brothers cologne is more of a gift for me than him (p.s. got that for my boyfriend for our anniversary one year and it smells amazing!), but it's definitely not something he could say no to! Also, for the active guys, a nice water bottle or FitBit would be the perfect gift! The water bottle is so cute I'm thinking about getting one in pink! I'm also seriously considering running up to J.Crew and getting those cheesy heart print boxers...because how funny!

Seeing Red

It's officially Valentine's week (and Mardi Gras!) which means I'll basically be living on sugar until next Monday. I'm usually not that big into Valentine's Day but this year I'm really looking forward to it. Since it falls on a Sunday this year, my boyfriend and I are making a whole weekend out of it! Dinner Saturday then Valentines brunch Sunday. I seriously cannot wait!

I wanted to share a fun daytime Valentine's look. I love how much of a statement midi skirts can make, and they're the perfect amount of modest for a daytime affair. The one I'm wearing is $26! You read that right... literally under $30 which is totally perfect if you're in need of a last minute V-Day look!

Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas

Ya'll, I cannot believe Valentine's Day is only a week away! I'm definitely scrambling to get plans together and grab some last minute things for the boyfriends present. While Valentine's Day is far from my favorite holiday, it's always fun seeing all the bright fun colors everywhere, and pink and red make the cutest color combo! Whether you have a Valentine this year or not, I've got you covered with some outfit inspiration for whatever your plans are!

What other day other than Valentine's Day is it appropriate to wear hot pink and red without totally standing out? This  hot pink lace dress is totally perfect for V-Day and is a fun spring party dress as well (after all wedding season will soon be upon us!). Also how CUTE is the Kate Spade heart confetti wallet!?

This year, February 14th falls on a Sunday...and what better way to spend a Sunday Valentine's Day than sipping on mimosas at brunch? A fun and casual floral shift dress (thats also perfect for spring) paired with an oversize rose quartz bag and some sassy heart sunnies is the perfect daytime Valentine's (or Galentine's!) look.

Galentine's Day can be just as fun if you're without a date come February 14th! Instead of a dinner date, grab some single girlfriends and have a fun night on the town! A little black romper paired with red accessories and a sassy cheetah print clutch is the perfect (anti) Valentine's outfit for a single girls' night out

Do you have any exciting Valentine's Day plans?

Spring Favorites

Happy Groundhog Day! I'm definitely hoping for an early spring this year, and it sure has felt like it these past few days in Dallas! This time of year I'm more than ready to trade my coats and scarves for swimsuits and sunglasses. Not that winter has been bad this year, but I'm totally over having to bundle up and I'm looking forward to the light and airy colors and fabrics of spring.

I've been loving browsing through all the new spring collections that have been popping up in all my favorite stores. I'm definitely planning on stocking up on a few early spring staples that can carry me through the rest of winter and through the summer.

Are you hoping for an early spring or a few more weeks of winter?
