Friday Finds 6/23/2017 - Asos Up-to-50% Off Sale!

Red Asos sundress with hat and straw clutch

Happy Friday y'all! Today's Friday Finds post is going to be a bit unusual, I noticed that this sundress I shot a few days ago is currently on major sale as well as a ton of other cute stuff from one of my favorite online stores: Asos! I bought this dress because it seemed like the most perfect summer vacation dress, and considering I'm saving up my vacation days for my wedding and honeymoon next year, I am definitely in need of a vacation!

How to Incorporate Red, White & Blue into Your Summer Wardrobe

red white and blue outfit
Ya'll, the 4th of July is literally right around the corner and tomorrow is the official first day of summer. Seriously, where has the year gone?? Not to be a broken record but it seems like just a minute ago I was showing you guys my favorite winter coats and now my car is reading 108 as I'm leaving the office! (Yes, it sucks.)

Anyways, one of my favorite trends as the summer heats up each year is seeing all the Americana pieces in stores and out and about, butttt if you've seen one blue seersucker dress you've seen them all (even though I still might have like six in my shopping bag right now...). Not that I'm knocking the slightly obnoxious "USA! USA! USA!" shirts that I will definitely be breaking out come Independence day, but here's some tips if you want to add a bit of red, white, and blue to your everyday summer outfits without being too over-the-top!

Summer Whites

white look for summer, summer outfit idea, ootd, dallas fashion blogger
Happy Monday, I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! This weekend was Jered's birthday (well Thursday, but we celebrated over the weekend) and this outfit was tons of fun for all the festivities! I wanted to share this one with you guys because there's just something about crisp and clean whites that screams summer to me! I love the simplicity of this look, but with a pop of color in the tassels - and a bright pink clutch was the perfect complement.

Friday Finds 6/16/2017 - Shopbop Sale!

Happy Friday! I for one and SO happy it's finally the weekend! This week has really worn me out between freelance graphic design, blogging, my actual office job, annnddd Jered's birthday yesterday (by the way, take a look at our engagement photos!) I am definitely ready to relax for a few days.

For this weeks installment of Friday Finds, I'm focusing on the amazing Shopbop sale that's currently going on for only 2 more days - which is perfect for a little Saturday shopping! Everything shown below is an extra 25% off it's already reduced price using code "SCORE17," making it the perfect time to grab some vacation ready pieces or to start planning your 4th of July outfit (in 2 weeks!!). Just click directly on the products below for more info!

Despite having a perpetually full shopping bag at Shopbop, I actually just shopped there for the first time recently. I have been ordering some wedding dresses online and they have a pretty good selection of ready-to-wear gowns - I would really love to find my dress in my street size if I could. Anyways, they're owned by Amazon so I was pretty confident about spending $1,500 trying on a dress and in my experience they were awesome! I'm currently in the process of returning the gown - as beautiful as it was, it just wasn't nearly as flattering on me as I hoped - and I love how I can track the return package on it's way back to them.

Have a great weekend y'all!

Wedding Wednesday - Engagement Photos + Tips

I know I got this post up really late today but it has been the longest week - I feel like I say that every week. I'm so excited to share my engagement photos with you guys though! I seriously had the BEST time taking them - it was so much fun, and I am in love with how they came out. Our photographer, Andrea Elizabeth Photography, is perfect for us. She captured exactly what I had envisioned and I cannot wait until the wedding! If you're in Dallas and looking for a wedding photographer - definitely check her out!

Friday Finds - 6/8/2017

It's almost the weekend, ya'll, so you know what that means! Another edition of Friday Finds, a new series I'm working on each Friday to bring you guys the best pieces on sale for the weekend.

The summer - and year for that matter - is seeming to just fly by... I cannot believe we're already a week into June! It's definitely starting to heat up here in Texas, and lately I've wanted to wear nothing more than shorts and a tank top. Fortunately this weekend there are a ton of great summer pieces on sale, plus some great finds for Independence Day, which is only 3 weeks away! I know I'm not the only one who thinks thats totally crazy!

Click directly on the pieces below to shop them!

I've said it once and I'll say it again, this summer is all about fun necklines! From swimsuits to dresses to tops everything seems to have flouncy ruffles and lovely details. I'm absolutely loving the sleeves on this dress and the neckline on this swimsuit - both of which would be perfect for the 4th of July.

What's your favorite piece?

Gingham Goals

summer outfit idea, fashion blogger, gingham print outfit, gingham, shein fashion blogger, spring fashion, summer style, ootd, outfit, style blogger
If there is a quintessential print for summer it is definitely gingham, and I don't have nearly enough in my closet - especially considering I've been wearing this top on repeat since I got it! It's is perfect for a cute and casual weekend look, I love pairing it with jeans and my favorite wedges for an effortless but elevated summer vibe.

Garden Party

Happy June! I can't believe summer is already in full swing, but it's definitely starting to heat up in Texas! I love this one shoulder dress for summer events, it's perfect for when you're in need of something a little dressier than a sundress - but it's still super thin and light and the print just screams summer! Due to the linen-y fabric it would be super easy to dress this up or down depending on the occasion, I was actually planning on wearing this outfit to a golf tournament over Memorial Day - but we left Jered's family's house later than we planned to on Sunday so we ended up getting back to Dallas way too late.

Friday Finds 6/2/2017 - Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a wonderful short week, because there's still some awesome sales going on this weekend for todays Friday Finds - namely the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale! I've already stocked up on a few summer pieces which you can see here and here, but it's definitely the perfect time to complete your summer 2017 wardrobe for a discount.

This weekend, however, I'm going on a very special shopping trip. On Saturday, some friends and I are taking a road trip to Houston to go wedding dress shopping!! Ahh! I will definitely have to report back to you guys sometime soon, anyways have a great weekend!

Summer Stripes

Happy Hump Day! It was so hard going back to work after a long weekend of sun and shopping, but it's almost the weekend again already! Almost everything I'm wearing in today's outfit I got this weekend and most of it is still on sale (like my top and bag!). I think one of my favorite trends so far this season has been interesting necklines, I've been gravitating toward anything cold-shoulder, one-shoulder, or off the shoulder. This breezy and flow-y one shoulder top is no exception, it's the perfect casual weekend top to stay cool this summer - and it's super comfy!

Happy Memorial Day!

summer outfit, memorial day outfit, 4th of july outfit idea, ootd, blogger, dallas blogger, americana, fashion blogger outfit, summer outfit ideas
I hope everyone is having a wonderful and relaxing Memorial Day! This weekend officially kicks off summer and I'm definitely looking forward to the days of barbecues and pool days! I love this comfy and cute peplum top, it's perfect for casual summer days and paired with this bag (that's currently on major sale) and a pair of worn jeans would be perfect for July 4th as well!

Friday Finds 5/25/2017 + Memorial Day Sales

Happy Friday! I'm so glad it's finally the long weekend - and the official kickoff to summer! This weekend I'm attending my fiancés' family reunion down in the literal middle of nowhere, Texas until Sunday and then I plan on parking my butt in a lounge chair by the pool until work on Tuesday. It has definitely been a stressful year so far between a full time job, wedding planning, and blogging so I'm really looking forward to the first official long weekend of the year to catch up on some sleep and relax, and maybe do a little shopping...

Engagement Party Outfit

Since it's "Wedding Wednesday," I wanted to share my look from my engagement party that my Maid of Honor threw for me a few weeks ago! She did a great job, and it was so nice of her since my parents just moved across the country so they weren't able to throw us one! I just LOVED this white cold-shoulder sundress - it was the perfect amount of casual and it's a dress that I will definitely be wearing all summer long! Plus it's under $50!

Bandana Top

Hello Summer! Unfortunately my schedule hasn't changed, but with a bunch of my friends graduating this past weekend it's really starting to feel like summer! This fun bandana print top has quickly become my go-to on weekends now that it's warming up! I am in love with the neckline and it's so light and breezy that it's perfect for hot Dallas days...plus wouldn't this be the perfect Memorial Day look?

Friday Finds 5/19/2017

Happy Friday! This has felt like the longest week to me, so I'm definitely glad it's the weekend! When I was making this post, I sort of fell into a Nordstrom sale rabbit hole and ended up making the first post in this new series a Nordy sale goodies round up!

This weekend, if you plan to do any shopping be sure to stock up on some adorable seasonal essentials!
friday finds, dallas fashion blogger, sales guide, memorial day sales guide, summer sales guide, nordstrom sale, fashion blogger

ONE || I am in love with the sleeves on this dress! Such a unique take on seersucker for summer

TWO || I actually have had my eye on this dress for a while, I love the lace and ruffle details. For under $40 this is an absolute steal - and an adorable summer classic!

THREE || Unfortunately I don't have anymore weddings to attend this summer, but if I did I would absolutely wear this dress! I love the neckline, sleeves, color, and pattern. It would look perfect with a scrappy pair of black heels and a pair of statement earrings, plus it's almost half off!

FOUR || I love finding closet staples in the sale section. This white quilted Rebecca Minkoff bag would be a great and versatile addition to your closet - especially at this price point!

FIVE || I love Sam Edelman shoes (I tend to have to size 1/2 a size down, FYI) so finding a summer staple like these for under $100 is definitely enough to get me running to the mall this weekend!

SIX || A bold & minimalist pair of statement earrings are just SO on trend this summer!

SEVEN || As I have mentioned, I am loving embroidery this season, and these embroidered sandals are no exception - plus I love the low block heel on them!

EIGHT || A straw oversized beach bag is definitely a summer essential, and I've been lusting over this adorable pom pom and embroidered one for a while now - which is why I'm so excited to see it $100 off (yes, you read that right!)

NINE || I am obsessed with bell sleeves right now, and this one is under $30!

TEN || I love these sunglasses, they're such a fun and unique shape!

ELEVEN || Another top I've been loving for a while! Just so many fun details - from the laser cut look, to the bug ruffle, off shoulder neckline, and color; what's not to love?

Do you plan on hitting up some sales this weekend?
Happy Shopping!

Sweet Embroidered Dress

Ya'll this is one of my favorite dresses this season and it's back in stock (and under $60!), I got it a while ago and have been meaning to post for you guys so I'm glad it's still available! The embroidery and scallops just make it so unique - especially at the price point. I originally bought it to wear to Easter service, but my fiancé was sick that weekend so we stayed home - so I wore it this weekend for Mother's Day brunch instead.

Pool Day Fun With Red Dolly Swimwear

vintage pool outfit, pool day, summer outfit, cursive floppy hat, cactus print swimsuit, blogger, fashion blogger, summer style
This weekend definitely started to feel like summer here in Dallas - and I took advantage of every bit of sunshine I could! One of my favorite things about the summer is laying out by the pool every weekend and soaking up that vitamin D, which means I need a plethora of adorable swimsuits in my closet for just that! Isn't this vintage-inspired Red Dolly swimsuit is just too cute? When Heather from Red Dolly offered to let me pick out one of their suits, I just couldn't resist this fun cactus print -I know I'm not the only one loving anything cactus and southwest themed this season!

Mother's Day Gift Guide

I'm not sure why, but this year has seemed to absolutely FLY by! I still cannot believe it's already May...I was sure I had more time to get in shape for swimsuit season! Regardless, Mother's Day is already upon us, and I still need to pick out the perfect gift - not that my mother hasn't been consistently reminding me with suggestions!

Products are linked in the images above, just click directly on the items!

Usually I take my mom out for a nice dinner for Mother's Day with a bouquet of flowers, but since she moved a few states away I'll have to be sure to send her something extra nice! I love giving people useful gifts that they will actually use, a new watch, a set of nice perfume, or a new pair of sunglasses just in time for summer are perfect for any mom!

Have you started Mother's Day shopping?

Bright Off the Shoulder Sundress

Hey guys! I know I've been a bit MIA lately, but hopefully I'm back for good now! For the past few weeks I've been completely swamped with work, extra work, wedding planning, events, plus some changes going on around here that you'll get to see soon! Sometimes being an adult is hard, y'all! Speaking of events, this past weekend I was in Florida (can you tell I'm sunburned?) for a family wedding, and this bright sundress was perfect for attending a casual rehearsal dinner in the Sunshine State!

Pink Pom Pom Dress with SheInside

Hello weekend! I'm celebrating the first weekend of the new spring season with this fun and flirty pom pom dress from SheInside, ya'll this dress is UNDER $25, and wouldn't the perfect wedding guest dress or Easter dress? I am in love with the pom pom detailing and bell selves and I can absolutely see myself wearing this all spring!

As much as I would love to, I don't get to blog all day long as my main job so I'm at the office from 9-5. I realized I rarely share any office looks - I guess after a week of work I want to dress up in fun looks for y'all! However, I thought I would share a bit of outfit inspiration with some wardrobe staples I've been wearing on repeat at the office!

Spring Transition - Styling a Floral Romper

I've definitely got a case of spring fever, y'all! The weather here lately has been absolutely gorgeous and I've been able to break out some of my new spring finds - like this adorable floral romper! I just love the trendy bell sleeves and pairing it with a pair of over the knee boots and a jacket, if it's too chilly, makes it a great transition piece for those cooler early spring days. Here's to patio weather, longer days, and swimsuit season! Yay, spring!

Happy (almost) Valentine's Day, y'all! This year I decided to throw my first Galentine's Party for my best girl friends so I could ask them to stand by me in my wedding (spoiler - they said yes! Yay!) Rearranging my bar cart with lots of pink V-Day accents and yummy sweets was a definite must for the get together! I had so much fun putting together this shoot and planning a Galentine's that I will definitely have to make it a tradition!

Valentines Gift Ideas

Ya'll, I cannot believe it's already February and Valentine's Day is only a week away! I feel like I was just writing Christmas gift guides and now it's time for another! I've said it a thousand times but I'll say it again, guys are seriously the hardest people to shop for...it's totally not fair at all!

valentines gift ideas, valentines gift guide, valentines gifts for him, what to get your boyfriend for valentines day, v-day gift guide

1. New Shirts - Guys aren't big on shopping and I'm assuming since you're reading a fashion blog you are, so why don't you style your boyfriend and grab some new shirts to spruce up his wardrobe for Valentine's Day! I love how this one subtly nods to the holiday with a shade of pink, plus it will be the perfect addition to his closet for the upcoming spring season!

2. Cool Watch - A watch is something my guy would never buy for himself, which is why it would be such a great gift, not to mention a sweet everyday reminder of his lovely fiancee!

3. Bluetooth Speakers - This was actually my gift to Jered for Christmas and he uses it all the time! A portable speaker is a perfect gift for a tech savvy or music loving guy, plus they have surprisingly good sound for such a small gadget.

4.  Leather Belt - I'm all about practicality when it comes to gift giving, I definitely want whoever I'm giving a gift to actually use it. A nice leather belt is something a guy will use basically every day and it will last him a while, I love this Brooks Brothers one for a classic style.

5.  Sunglasses - Sunglasses are another thing that Jered absolutely will not buy for himself. I don't know how many pairs of those cheap plastic ones with logos on the side he has, but it's way too many. A good pair of Ray-Bans would make a great gift for any guy that wouldn't think about splurging on them himself.

6. & 7. Bottle Opener & Whiskey Stones - I combined these gifts into one because whether your man is a beer guy or a whisky enthusiast, you can never go wrong with some unique bar accessories.

8. iPhone Case - A new smartphone case is always a good gift idea, with the amount phones get beat around during the day I know I'm always in need of a new one. This woodgrain one is the perfect amount of stylish for any guy.

9. Cologne - Ok, so this might actually be more of a gift for me but, whatever. This is my absolute favorite cologne on Jered. I seriously always make sure he doesn't run out of his Brooks Brothers Classic cologne - plus it makes the perfect last minute gift if I'm short on ideas!

10. Valentine's Themed Boxers - This is a little bit of a gag gift that I think is totally hilarious that I've been including in my Valentine's Day gifts for a few years now. It's just funny to know my guy is walking around in heart print boxers for some reason - and it's practical. This may be TMI - but J.Crew apparently has the best boxers :).

Instagram Lately...

It's been a while since I've done a re-cap of what's been happening in my life, something I share a bit more on Instagram rather than in the formality of an outfit post or style guide here on the blog. I love reading what all my favorite bloggers are up to once in a while so I thought I'd share with you guys!

Pop, Fizz, Clink! This New Years was a big one for me! Not only did I turn 25 (I'm halfway through my twenties guys...) but found out about some big changes in 2017!

Cozy Cardigan

It seems like Dallas can't decide if it wants to have winter this year or not, and the spring-like days this January have definitely been nice! I've basically been living in some combination of this outfit on weekends, between errands and wedding planning meetings I've been busy and this is the perfect casual yet cute outfit to get everything done!

Valentine's Day Favorites

Styling a Skirt for Winter

I think this might be one of my favorite winter outfits! Winter time is so often marked by puffy layers and warm pants and leggings, that incorporating a skirt into your winter wardrobe (and staying warm while doing it) can be a challenge! A cozy sweater, a warm blanket scarf, and a chic pair of OTK boots make showing a little leg, dare I say, comfortable in freezing weather!

Bright Orange Coat + Winter Office Outfit

Ya'll when I shot this look it was SO windy and cold! Dallas has had a very bi-polar winter, one day it will be 45 and the next it's 75. It's been really hard to keep up! On the days it decides to actually be winter, I cannot get enough of this fun orange coat! What better way to beat the winter blues than with a bold statement piece that keeps you nice and toasty too!

Pantone Color of the Year 2017: Greenery

This year, I'm seeing green! I always love seeing what the new color of the year is and this year Pantone decided to go with a bright and fresh shade of green. Incorporating the new COTY into your wardrobe might seem daunting, considering it's a little bolder than last years pastel neutrals but green can be worn as a statement piece or in a more muted shade as a neutral (think olive green). Below, I've curated some of my favorite Greenery pieces to get you through winter and into spring!

Pantone color of the year, greenery, how to wear greenery, blogger, how to wear the 2017 pantone color of the year
Coat || iPhone Case || Bag || Heels || Sunglasses || Earrings || Luggage || Dress || Cold Shoulder Dress || Swimsuit || Jacket (Under $100!)

Cozy Layers & OTK Boots

winter style, poncho, over the knee boots, stuart wizeman boots dupe, blogger, layers, winter outfit ideas, how to wear a blanket scarf, outfit of the day, dallas blogger
Every year after the holidays come to an end I find myself wishing for spring in the dead of winter, this year I decided a little retail therapy might help my case! It's hard to wish for warmer temperatures when cozy winter layers are just so darn cute!

Best Birthday Ever - I'm Engaged!

Ya'll, I've had such a hard time keeping quite about this for the past week, but now I can spill the beans... I'M ENGAGED! This has been something my boy- I mean, fiancé have been talking about for a while, but he's the type of person that will sit and stare at the order button on Amazon for literal hours before buying something (seriously...) so I didn't have my hopes up for it happening anytime soon. Boy, did he surprise me!

New Year Neutrals + the Coziest Funnel Neck Sweater

neutral outfit idea, funnel neck sweater, mock neck sweater, winter blogger outfit, blogger outfit idea, outfit of the day, fall fashion, fall outfit idea, winter style, blogger style
Funnel neck sweaters are my new favorite trend, they're so warm and cozy and look SO chic at the same time. Since my New Years Eve fun all I've wanted to do was stay in my pajamas and not leave the house - but running errands in this outfit is a close second!

Happy New Year! + Glittery NYE Gown

Beats and Bubby New years eve black tie event outfit, Black tie gown, Black tie outfit idea, Glittery NYE Outfit, New years eve outfit idea, Sequin New Years look, Black Tie New Years Eve Outfit
Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe New Years Eve. For the first day of 2017 I stayed in my pajamas, but I wanted to share my NYE look with ya'll because it's not every day you get to dress up for a glitzy black tie event!

This year, we decided to go all out and attend Beats and Bubbly hosted by Rhonda Jenkins over at The Skinny Arm. It was an absolute blast and the Perot Museum is one of my favorite buildings in all of Dallas (#ArchitectureNerd).
