I don't know if it has to do with the fact that I've been browsing all the new fall trends for the past two weeks at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale or if it's because it's currently that gross part of the summer here in Texas where you avoid going outside at all costs, but I am so ready for the weather to start cooling off so I can cozy up in sweaters and scarves! Despite basically melting during this photoshoot, I can already tell that this look will get worn on the regular in a few months due to the fact that it's such an easy fall outfit to throw on.
P.S. Literally everything I'm wearing in this look is currently under $100!
GET THE LOOK:
I've definitely found over the years that basics make the best and most wearable outfits and this look is no exception. This tee is probably one of the softest and comfiest t-shirts I own (and one of the most versatile pieces I grabbed at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale) and wearing it under this waterfall neck jacket (also in this outfit!) perfectly transitions it into cooler temperatures and elevates it beyond just loungewear.
Pairing neutrals with a pair of colored jeans (like these wine colored jeans I'm wearing) is a great way to add a pop of color and a small statement to an otherwise simple outfit. During the fall I practically live in jeans, so I was happy to grab a pair in a different color to switch things up a bit!
I've already talked about these paisley velvet booties on the blog a bit, but they are the perfect fall statement piece and, like I said, I'm predicting that patterned booties in luxurious textures will be a huge fall trend this season! Adding just one statement piece to an otherwise basic outfit is a wonderful way to elevate it and really personalize and make it unique. It's definitely a bit of a trick to make you look like a total fashionista even in just a basic tee and jeans.
